• Note: the best way to prevent battery
  capacity deterioration is to bring the battery inside and allow it to
  warm up to room temperature before charging. Plugging a cold battery
  into the charger can permanently affect how much charge it can hold. It
  is normal for the battery to get warm while charging. To reduce heat,
  always leave the battery charging on a smooth, hard surface like wood,
  glass, tile, or concrete to keep it as cool as possible. When the bike
  is not in use for long periods, it’s recommended to top off the
  battery’s charge once a month to keep its charge capacity as high as
  possible.
